Description
Up for sale is yet another beautifully well kept antique Elgin pocket watch from circa 1900 in perfect running condition. Beautiful white enamel, multi-coloured dial boasts some exquisite silver highlights found only on premium watches. Dial is a Size 6 ladies.
This is not an open-face watch. It's housed in a nice Gold-filled "J Boss" HUNTERS CASE with a nice glass crystal. No problems with the case lids, function and close tightly. Casing measures 1.5" across in diameter, excluding the crown.
The movement reads "15-Jewels, Elgin National Watch Company, USA, Safety Pinion". The safety pinion is an American invention patented in 1857, a mechanism that prevents extensive damage to the rest of the watch if the mainspring gets loose.
An excellent addition for any watch collector or as a priceless Christmas Gift.

EDIT: I have questions asking how much gold content there is in the hunters case and inner case. I am not a goldsmith, I have not had this item appraised hence I do not know.
